8.2 Enterprise Directory

The enterprise directory is the LDAP server or cluster that is recognized as the primary directory for the enterprise. It is considered canonical for most applications. The only change required to the enterprise directory is that it should have the commURI attribute available for person entries. The commURI is simply a pointer (labeled URI) that points to a single communications instance in the H.350 directory. Note that users may have more than one communications instance or service, and therefore may have multiple commURIs. Users modify their commURI and labels through the Service Manager, rather than having direct write access. The enterprise directory is canonical for all commURI data, and no other copy of the data is maintained.
