Minutes Review

--------------------

Please post any changes to the minutes within a couple of days to the

vnet list.

-------------------

Agenda Review

-------------------

Egon added the indexing attributes discussion to the agenda. Egon was

not present so the discussion has been postponed.

--------------------------

Face to Face Meeting

--------------------------

Egon may not make it to the face to face meeting in Atlanta because of

the (almost certain) possibility of war. Tyler mentioned that we should

speak with RADVISION in more detail and for a greater length of time if

they are going to be at the meeting. A revised version of the agenda

will be circulated by Wednesday March 19.

-------------------------

Shibboleth Question

-------------------------

Tyler asked about whether logging into an email server (login/password)

and then sending an email message to Nadim would mean that Nadim (who

also logged in at his server) could consider the message to surely be

from Tyler. Was this analagous to Shibboleth? Jill said that

Shibboleth has the concept of a "Server-level" PKI scheme. For the

email analogy, you would be sure the server had authenticated the

sender. This is not the same as end-to-end signatures, but may be

better than forged FROM lines. Tyler mentioned that there still isn't an

end-to-end PKI scheme. Aditya said that this is not a very good analogy

because Shibboleth was meant to authenticate for anything using the http

protocol which email does not use.

--------------------------

sipIdentity Discussion

--------------------------

Alissa sent a summary of the sipIdentity videoconference around to the

Vnet group. Tyler said that one of the things that came out of the

meeting was that any extensions to SIP could and should be dealt with in

separate documents. He said the document's focus will be on RFC 3261.

Bengisu, Aditya, and Tarun are going to look at the concept of "Realm"

as related to SIP and decide if it needs to be encapsulated into an

attribute. Tyler thinks it does not because the "Realm" attribute seems

to be sent every time a challenge from the proxy is sent. There was a

question about the different proxies and their use of a database and/or

LDAP. Nadim was wanting Samir to release, if possible, the information

to him. Tyler said that they believe they are fairly close to

completing the document.

--------------

CGU Client

--------------

CGU is in the process of joining I2 - timeframe unknown. In the

meantime, SteveO agrees a ViDeNet distribution would be fine. Jill said

that the FAQ would need to be in order and an introductory page was

needed. Samir said that they have an email address set up for technical

support.

-----------------------

Distributed Search

-----------------------

Item to be postponed. Nadim said he will get in touch with Aditya

sometime this week.

--------------------------

Face to Face Meeting

--------------------------

Jill asked Tyler if he were bringing a Polycom unit. Tyler said he

would bring at least one VIGO. Tyler asked if we should perhaps prepare

for a remote meeting in case everyone is "grounded". Jill agreed. Jill

said that there should be a polycom in the room anyway and that Tyler

did not need to bring one. There should also be a four-port hub. Tyler

will bring a 10-12 port hub.
