Jason gave a brief status of where Active Directory stands on

integrating with H.350. commUniqueId has to be changed to 2.5.5.12

syntax (Unicode) in order to be the RDN for the commObject. He asked if

there are any problems with doing this.

Nadim said that he sees no problems with doing this but it should be

mentioned that this is what had to be changed in order to get H.350 to

work with Active Directory.

Jason has heard that our schema will not work in Windows 2000 Active

Directory, but should work in Windows 2003 Active Directory. [UPDATE:

Our schema should work in 2000 as long as we use statically linked

auxiliary objects instead of dynamically linked.] Also, there are

problems with the fact that 2003 AD does not allow anonymous searches by

default. It is possible to disable this, but it is very 'involved'.

Also, Jason noted that for some reason the commUniqueId attribute was

not searchable [UPDATE: It has been found that the search was going

against the Global Catalog instead of the standard LDAP port. When the

standard LDAP port was used, the commUniqueId attribute was visible.

Also, the searchFlags has been updated so that all of the attributes are

replicated to the Global Catalog.].

Jason asked if there was any documentation on the LDAP crawler/LIMS/TIO

material. Nadim said that he had not seen any. Nadim asked about how

to 'sign-up' for the LDAP crawler service. He also expressed concern

about not having the power to restrict what is searched. Also, he asked

about size limitations for search results and if that would affect

anything.

Jason mentioned that sending an LDIF file gives the administrator more

control than having the directory crawled. He thought it would be a

good idea if a message was posted to the Vnet list on this topic. Nadim

volunteered to send a message to the list.

Jason asked if Nadim had any feedback on the cookbook. Nadim said that

he had looked over the sections that pertained to him and said they

looked fine.
